Fully-funded PhD Position

Applicants are invited to apply for a PhD scholarship in artificial intelligence in Germany. Applicants should apply as soon as possible.

This PhD project will be carried out in the newly established group of Theoretical and Computational Biophysics [CovinoLab] led by Dr. Roberto Covino at the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies and Centre for Multiscale Modeling in the Life Sciences [CMMS].

The project focuses on developing and applying an innovative computational framework that integrates artificial intelligence and physics-based computer simulations to study the formation of protein assemblies in cellular membranes. Self-assembly of proteins in cellular membranes is a fundamental process in biology. Understanding its biophysics and biological implications requires groundbreaking approaches, which you will advance. Your research will range across biophysics, artificial intelligence, physics, and high-performance computing. You will be embedded in a highly interdisciplinary environment and interact intensely with experimental collaborators to develop new quantitative models of fundamental biological systems.

The FIAS and Covino Lab are proud to be equal opportunity employers. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
